Registering for Kindergarten

We are excited to welcome you and your student to the Milford School District!  Please see below for details on enrolling your student.  We have two early elementary schools that will You can find out where your student will be attending kindergarten by using our school locator.

If your child will be 5 years old on or before August 31, please register them for kindergarten as soon as possible so we can plan for next year. Registration can be completed online or at one of our registration events.

Important notes:

  • All documents must be received (uploaded or dropped off) to complete enrollment.

  • Children must be 5 years old by August 31 to start kindergarten that school year.

*Please note: Any family who is interested in being considered for the 2026-2027 Spanish Immersion Program lottery will need to register on or before June 12th. Any late registrants will be added to the waiting list.

How to Register:

Register online here or attend one of our registration events.  To complete registration, you will need the following documents:
  • Parent/Guardian Driver’s License or Government Issued Identification Card
  • Child's Birth Certificate (State Issued Birth Certificate with raised seal)
  • Student Health Appraisal
  • Legal Documents concerning Custody (if applicable)
  • Proof of Residence – Acceptable documents include:
    • Utility Bill (gas, electric, water, etc.) The bill must list the address where services are rendered and list the person registering the child.
    • Mortgage Statement
    • Housing Lease

Registration Events:

Families may register online or attend one of our in-person registration events listed below. Translators will be available at all in-person events.  *Please bring your student with you if attending Morris (July 27) or Banneker (August 10) registration events for student screening.
  • July 13 | 3:30–6:30 PM: MSD District Office
  • July 27 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM: Morris Early Childhood* 
  • August 5 | 3:30–6:30 PM: MSD District Office
  • August 10 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM: Banneker*
