Closings and Delays

Milford School District communication channels are the most reliable resource to find information about school closings or delays. These channels include:

We contact only the television stations listed below. Other stations may report closings and delays, but we are not responsible for providing them with information.




Delays for Inclement Weather Process

Fog and ice delays are common during the Fall and Winter months.  Our process for delays start around 4:00am.  No less than three people are checking weather conditions in various parts of the district.  We use state and local weather forecasts as well as local radar and temperature readings.  A determination is made  by comparing our conditions with what neighboring districts are seeing as well.  We try to have a decision made by 5:15am at the latest.  Once a decision is made, we send an automated call out to notify families.  Please make sure your contact information is accurate.

Delay Transportation Information:

In the instance of a 90-minute delay, students and staff will report 90 minutes later than their normal start time.  The same is true for bus pick-up times.  For instance, if your bus is scheduled to pick-up at 6:00am, the 90-minute delay pick-up time is 7:30am.
