Title 1 Resources
|
Title I, originally enacted in 1965 as part of the war on poverty to help the most disadvantaged students, is the largest federal investment in elementary and secondary education to date. Title I federal funding helps improve teaching and learning in schools with the highest concentrations of poverty (based on the number of free/reduced lunch students at the school) to help them meet challenging state academic standards. |

Parents Guide to Student Success
The American Psychological Association reports that parent engagement increases grades, test scores, attendance, and health outcomes. Additionally, teacher – family communication is associated with increases in the likelihood students complete homework, pay attention and participate in class, and are educationally motivated. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires schools, local education agencies, and state education agencies work together to engage parents and families.
